*spoiler alert* In the end, Irial loves both Niall and Leslie and he does whatever it takes so that they can be happy even if it means he's not part of it. There's few people Irial is willing to sacrifice for, but for those fortunate few he'd move the earth for them. He's cocky and arrogant (for good reason) and likes to push boundaries, but he also loves ferociously. He doesn't mind doing amoral things if that's what it takes to protect his court and the ones he love. Like the quote above said, Irial is everything the Dark Court embodies. He's strong and he's powerful, but there's this fierce love in him to protect those he care about. He does plays the amazing Dean Winchester on Supernatural and is able to show all of Dean's vulnerability underneath that tough guy exterior and I think that's what Niall really is. He's the kind that would sacrifice everything for love and I can see Jensen playing this up beautifully. His love for both Leslie and Irial underlines his every decision, his every action. Out of all three I think Niall is the one that holds his heart the sleeve. Niall had always been sweet to me despite all the fury and power he held underneath the surface. " For this mortal I would disobey my queen, abandon my king, the court that has protected me all these years. *end spoiler alert* There's just so much love I have for Leslie and I think that Leighton can portray both the character's soft, delicate side and her strong, independent side as well. She did what she knew was best even if it wasn't want she wanted, even if it meant staying away from the two people she loved. I loved that Leslie walked away and in doing so kept her independence and showed her strength.
*spoiler alert* She was willing to walk away from both Niall and Irial despite how much she loved them and how much they loved her because she knew it wasn't good or healthy for her to be with either of them. There's this fragility to Leslie given her family situation and the things she goes through throughout the the book, but in the end I think she's the strongest of all the girls. There's this line that Irial says about how she was a bundle of terror and fury and I think that Leighton Meester has the acting chops to do exactly that.
And Leslie is my favorite female character in the entire WL series. If anyone knows me at all they know I have an undying girl crush on Leighton Meester. "Sometimes love means letting go when you want to hold on tighter."
